Being compared to other musicians is like…
@thejessdelfinoIt happens a lot in comedy, I think. And I’m flattered honestly that people would compare me to @lisakudrow — but there’s only one Jessica Delfino. Who do you get compared to, comedians / musicians? #musicians #comedy #standup #music #notes #dirtyfolkrock #jokes #jessicadelfino #500miles #coversongs #comedicmusic #lisakudrow #smellycat #alanismorissetteTiktok failed to load.

MY TRIP TO THE VACATIONLAND
I just got back from a week in Maine and boy is my spirit rejuvenated. How often do you go on vacation? When was the last time you took a vacation? This was the first official time I’ve ever taken a vacation with my family, and it was every bit as dreamy and magical as a vacation should be.
We rented a house in midcoastal Maine from a house renting agency.
It was the dreamiest little cottage in all the land.
Will you look at that doll house? I mean, come on.
For anyone who’s always wanted to bathe in front of a painting of two people watching them, this was the spot.
We did everything there was to do. I made this video on day 2.
A fun thing about going on vacation to Maine is that I grew up there, so I know all the best places to go.
A lot of things have changed since I was a feral shore creature running around the hood in my old T-Top Trans Am, but some things haven’t changed one bit. And just in case you’re not sure what a T-Top Trans Am looks like…
I wish I still had that car! It was so fast, and loud, and fun.
I stayed kind of by where that big lobster is.
We did all the stuff.
We hit Round Top, of course…
And Pemaquid Point Lighthouse…
And drove along the stunning shoreline, dreaming of buying a beach home…
I’ve always loved Christmas Cove at dusk.
Look at this pretty little mermaid on the shores of Pemaquid Beach!
I tried to work out a show while I was in Maine, but truth be told, I didn’t try that hard, and decided to just take an actual vacation. Do comedians even ever take vacations? We are always taking in information to regurgitate into bits, analyzing people, reading scenarios and mining them for funny… it’s exhausting.
Here are some other things I did and places I went to, so you know where to go next time you’re in Maine:
Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum - a train lover’s paradise
Reny’s - old school department store, good souvenirs
Abundant Bakery - honestly the best brownies ever
Newcastle Publick House - restaurant with a good fish sandwich
Round Top Ice Cream - the best ice cream around
Rachel Carson Salt Pond Preserve - a beautiful natural oceanic playground
Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop - a very sweet line of bookstores in Maine
Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop - another very cute bookstore
La Verna Nature Preserve - a good hike
Round Pond Parade - Brief but delightful 4th of July must-see insanity
Owls Head Transportation Museum - fun for the whole family
Maine State Prison Show Room - souvenirs made by prisoners
Pemaquid Point Lighthouse - the most beautiful slice of coast anywhere
Pemaquid Beach Park - a perfect little saltwater beach
Christmas Cove - a truly dreamy coastal drive
Boothbay Harbor - it’s touristy AF for a reason
Damariscotta Lake State Park - a perfect little freshwater beach
Elmer’s Barn - a giant mess of antiques and attitude, love it
Jefferson Market and General Store - this place sure has come a long way
There is so much I didn’t mention — you’ll have to go check it out for yourself.
Where are you planning to go on vacation this summer?
